Day 01: Nairobi

Meet & pick up on arrival at the airport.  Drop off to hotel, Nairobi
Tonight start your Safari with a dinner at the world famous Carnivore restaurant. This is an experience not to be missed.

Day 02: Nairobi – Aberdare National Reserve

Depart Nairobi at 9.30am driving a long the slopes of Mount Kenya.  Drive through Kikuyu farm lands to Aberdare Country Club, Nyeri for lunch at approx 12.30pm. After lunch you will drive to the Ark, using the Ark’s transport. Only small overnight bags can be taken to the Ark. All other bags are stored at the Club and picked up the following morning. A night spent in the African night world of unfolding drama, watching a floodlit water hole where animals come to drink or look for prey. You are alerted, if you like, to see any exciting animals coming to the water hole during the night. The Ark is a famous Tree lodge with its own captive game that can be viewed directly from the lodge.

Day 03: Sweet Waters

The next morning after breakfast depart the Ark to continue your journey along the slopes of Mount Kenya to Sweetwaters Luxury Tented Camp Nanyuki.
Sweetwaters is a private sanctuary that raises Rhino and Chimps. It has the best Chimpanzee Sanctuary and is a highly recommended lodge.

Day 04: Lake Nakuru National Park

This morning travel around the slopes of the mountain to Lake Nakuru National Park.  Lake Nakuru is one of many soda lakes, surrounded by volcanic cones that have formed on the floor of the Great Rift Valley. The lake is home to millions of Flamingos and Pelicans, who turn the lake pink with their numbers.  Nakuru is also becoming renowned for its successful protection of Rhinos inside the park where they are easily viewed. Along the river's edge, among the acacia trees, the shy, solitary leopard may be seen.

Day 05: Maasai Mara

Drive south to Maasai Mara this morning after breakfast. This northern extension of the Serengeti offers the best game viewing in Kenya. On these rolling savannahs, you can see an incredible variety of animals, especially in the fall during the Great Migration. Fever trees, sweeping vistas and vast herds of animals under a blue sky is the image most people have of East Africa.

Day 06: Maasai Mara

A second day of game drives in this famous park.  The Mara River, often featured on the Discovery channel, with its Hippo pools and huge Nile Crocodiles basking along the water's edge, cuts through the Maasai Mara with a life giving ribbon of water and green riverine landscape.  Experience the best game viewing that Africa has to offer! You can have up to 3 game drives today or chose to take an extended game drive across the plains to the Mara River Crossing. This would start after breakfast through the afternoon. If you chose this option we would prepare a packed lunch for you. Do not miss this!

Day 07: Maasai Mara – Nairobi

Early morning game drives before breakfast at 6.30am. Returning to the lodge at approximately 8:30 Am and thereafter drive to Nairobi to arrive in the afternoon at the posh Tribe Hotel.

Day 08 - Depart

Transfer to the airport.
 

 

Note: This is a very popular Safari and can be tailored to suit your preferences. It does not require long distances of driving. Longest drive per sector is approx 4 hours and the shortest is approx 1 hour. It offers some of the best parks and lodges in Kenya and is highly recommended to groups that have about a week in Kenya.
