DESCRIPTION:
- A large bovine.
- Massive built. May weigh up to 800 kilos and a height of 3.5 meters
- Its one of the most successful grazers
- Buffaloes do live in herds, with the dominant male as the head. Strong males fight to gain dominance through sparring. However, mature males do tend to live solitary lives
- Its one of the most dangerous herbivores, easily fighting off predators such as lions. It would normally take a pride of lions to take it down.
- The gestation period is a year. Young calves will usually stay with its mother until they are 2 years old.
